Sexual Expression of Persons with Dementia by Karen Rennie March 2019
Karen Rennie visited Wollongong in March 2019 to present her ‘Understanding expression of sexuality for persons with dementia’ seminar.
Listen to her interview with ABC Illawarra here: Part 1 / Part 2
PhD candidate and Research Assistant, Karen Rennie RN, is passionate about ensuring that the nursing care for older persons and persons living with dementia is of a high standard. In her PhD she is exploring how nurses can provide person-centred care when looking after persons living with dementia who express themselves sexually. In 2017, along with two co-authors, she published a literature review on this subject, which highlighted the strong need to future research and more person-centred nursing care within this area.
